Love this place, always make sure we visit when up in that neck of the woods. Such a varied range of lovely things to look at and to treat yourself to and the staff are so friendly and helpful, really worth a trip out to go and see.

Amazing place! Regularly go- the restaurant deli and shop are all amazing, best place to get foodie gifts. The staff are all so kind hearted- I recently had an issue where my business hadent got into a market that I have already prepared for and they came to my rescue and allowed me to trade which they saved all of my stock. Truly amazing, many thanks again!

Had a breakfast here with family pricing is fare and the dishes lush. Atmosphere is fabulous and on point even got a kids corner with toddler tv on. And a great display of animal to look it. The service is fast and clean.

I come here weekly with my mam and always been great, a little overpriced but we enjoy it so let that slide. When we came last week we were told there was a new menu.... the main extras we could tell were the prices! Breakfast increase by £2 tea and coffee very expensive too. Every week I come, I ask to remove egg and has never ever been a problem. However last week I was told they could no longer do this... We also had our breakfast come to the table and we hadn't received the drinks and had to ask for these. Real shame as this was a firm favourite but because of these changes, we are now on the hunt for a new weekly breakfast spot. The price increase I feel is extreme and a drop in the customer service to go with it.

Such a beautiful place. Not very often you can take your kids out for an afternoon and it not cost you a fortune! Even my teenagers said they really enjoyed seeing the animals. Garden centre is set out lovely too.

2025-February Visited, for breakfast, shortly after menu update. One of the nicest breakfasts we've enjoyed for a while. As someone with dietary intolerance, impressed this was asked about immediately menus were delivered. We chose Spinach & Mushroom on bloomer Toast (for me), available as gluten free and vegan as required, and Miners Eggs Benedict (for hubby). The food was absolutely delicious, mine one of the best I've tasted of similar dishes available locally.

Not impressed with new menu, were unwilling or unable to change toasted bloomer to ordinary toast, despite serving plain toast with full breakfast, full breakfast was missing two items, service was much slower than normal. A regular customer is now unlikely to return

We booked the 'Pooch Party' for my daughter's birthday and can highly recommend it. Having not been to a party at Lanchester Garden Centre before, I was a little apprehensive about how it would go but I needn't have worried. The events room it was held in was lovely (and nice and warm too) with a beautiful feature window looking out over the valley. Everything was well organised and Alison was a great party host. The party was a nice mix of crafting followed by time to move around and then food and had been well thought out to ensure it all ran smoothly. My daughter and her friends all had a fantastic time and were delighted with their new puppy toys.

Our visits to The Greenhouse Restaurant at Lanchester Garden Centre are always worth the 40-minute drive, and this time was no exception! The food was, as always, fantastic—our party especially loved the hot beef sandwich and the fish finger sandwich, both packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. One of the best things about The Greenhouse is that they welcome dogs, even offering a dedicated dog menu, which is a big plus for us. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, and the staff are consistently friendly and attentive. A shout out to Tom, who in particular, stood out this time—his professional yet personal approach made such a difference, and everyone at our table noticed his great service and agreed with his recommendation of Chips over fries. The continued high quality of food and service is what keeps us coming back, and it’s why we always bring our family from the South here when they visit. Between the great taste, friendly service, and dog-friendly environment, it’s become our go-to spot. We honestly can’t wait for our next visit!

Alright (ish) bit overpriced for mediocre food, I mean it’s not bad but what you’d expect from a garden centre. The place is always packed so plan ahead for not being able to get a seat. It’s great if you like cakes / sweet things but definitely overpriced. But then again, where isn’t these days. Space itself is describe as busy / noisy. Staff are friendly no issues there. Coffee is what you’d expect nothing amazing.

An absolute brilliant atmosphere been into potter's world as well. All the wild and exotic animals, especially the loud African grey. Parrots and I went into the greenhouse Cafe and they had huge slices of cakes. They had nearly every single flavour, carrot cake, chocolate cake, strawberry cream, Victoria sponge, and lemon tart. I had the chocolate one and it was so tasty. It's definitely worth coming down and when I got the cheese scone it came out all nice and toasty and when I put the butter on it literally just sank into the scone thanks Manchester garden centre. You guys are real expert of doing a good scone
